Video of how to get to Puerto Ayora from Airport

  •  Go to Venta de Tiquetes and pay $5 cash for bus to Itabaca Canal.
  •  Pay $1 and get onto ferry.  Enjoy the views.
  •  Pay $60 for 2 taxis ($25 each plus tip) to take us to the Airbnb.

3:30 pm  Unpack at AirBnb.  Explore!  Puerto Ayora has a great supermarket about 15 minutes from the Airbnb.  We can go to the 3rd floor and have the best view of the harbor.  Grab breakfast food, etc.

Next we may want to head to some tour agencies in town to book tours for the 13th, 14th and 15th.  Many sites have recommended to see 3-5 agencies and take advantages of their last minute deals.

Here are some must do activities for any of the nights we are in Puerto Ayora...  timing late afternoon to sunset will help us see more animals:

4:30pm Head to Puerto Ayora Pier” - This area is a great place to take photos of the blue-footed boobies, especially late afternoon to sunset. Here you can also see marine turtles, different kinds of sting and manta rays, small sharks, sea lions, marine iguanas, crabs, pelicans, cormorants, herons, seagulls and many more.

6:00pm “Ship Ports At Night” - Once the sun goes down the main waterfront gives you the opportunity to see nocturnal marine animals and fish that are attracted to the lights shining into the water. You may have to wait a bit, but if you're patient, there's a good chance you'll see baby sharks, manta rays, sea lions and many types of unique tropical fish.
