10 Jul Wed Amazon Tour Day 2

 July 10th, Wed.  Day 2 Amazon Tour

6:30am:  We explore the area looking for monkeys and birds in the awakening tropical rainforest. 

8:00am:  Breakfast.

9:30am:  Visit the indigenous Siona community to share their daily life in the Amazon Basin. We watch a
demonstration on how to make ‘Cassave’, the typical manioc bread of the region. Additional we
learn about the local customs and traditions of their past and present culture. 

2:00pm  Return for the lunch. 

3:00pm  Travel by motorized canoe upstream to reach the Laguna Grande. Explore the lagoon.  Learn about the 'Igapó', the ecosystem of the flooded forest, giant macrolobium trees that provide habitat for epiphytes and some species of birds such as cormorants. After exploring the lagoon, swim in the calm waters while watching the spectacular sunset of the Amazon region.Later we’ll continue our adventure observing the nocturnal fauna of the river landscape with some species of bats and looking for caimans before returning to the lodge. 

7:00pm  Dinner
